Milehigh, >>>"Where there is Smoke, there is Fire"!!<<<
Trying to put this into the most objective way that I can, and the best way I can think of to describe Rambus is that they are still operating in start-up mode. At the same time, they are developing an all new product in a very complex area technologically. Startups generally have all kinds of slips, restarts, product redefinitions, etc. They quite often run out of, or almost run out of the venture capital money, or private money, or whatever is paying the bills because of all the bumps in the road early on. It's almost too bad Rambus went public and had to show all this dirty linen. But, these bumps are very normal in the high tech world.
Rambus long folks seem to expect Rambus' plans to go off on schedule, without a hitch. Doesn't happen, no way, no company I can think of in a long time in the business.
Just what you guys don't need to hear, but the above really is the way it is.
