Yes that was indeed quite funny and typical.

I think the problem that most brokerage houses are dealing with is the fact that only a hand full of stocks is getting most of the attention and many are being ignored. I bet many companies are calling up complaining about the focus on the big technology names such as Dell, Microsoft, Intel and Cisco. They probably want something done to make the crowds lean more toward other investment possibilities. I personally favor the most potential investments for the long term.

There is some value to the argument that since competitors are replicating the Dell model that revenues and growth in Dell will be challenged resulting in lower figures and the PE should be lowered causing some sell off with Dell. The problem here is that any good earnings by CPQ, GTW,HWP or IBM is interpreted as bad for Dell which is just crap.
