Thanks Stan.

Sprint also rolled out in San Diego absent universal coverage in the county. There are gaps in the service due to insufficient number and location of antennae. Their stated reason was something that has been discussed on this forum, i.e. difficulty and delay in obtaining sites and permits. They are slowly filling in the gaps and should have the situation covered within 6 months (according to them).

I haven't had much problem with stationary or mobile calls in the areas of known coverage and the voice quality is excellent.

A friend of mine who has a PacBell GSM phone called me yesterday
(on a landline) to complain. He wanted to know about Sprint PCS and the AirTouch CDMA service because he was ready to convert his GSM phone into a doorstop. His main frustration was with constantly dropped calls while on three of the major local freeways.
