Tony, You are extremely bullish wrt Microsoft. Have you always been this way, more so than ever, or what. I'm looking at buying some MSFT.

I have always been bullish on MSFT since I started following stocks in 1996. Started with stock and then started options trading. MSFT was the reason I moved away from mutual funds--I felt there was only one stock to own at that time---took out a loan--used the funds to buy the shares--at maximum margin. Got away from that and went for options later.
I am extremely bullish short term and very bullish long term.
I made a fortune holding way out of the money call options (almost ready to retire) on this company leading into earnings on many occasions. I have cut down as I don't want to risk everything i have gained but i still have a substantial amount ot buy MSFT and INTEL options going into April. I plan to add the April 190s as we get closer to mid March or even start of march---just waiting to judge sentiment about the market. It appears that there is void from the lack of news(expect HP and Dell) as most techs have reported in january.

The management has a tendency to spook investors at almost every earnings release-making comments such as --we can't continue to grow at our current pace; Asian uncertainty; the stock is overvalued; Y2K uncertainty. A lot of investors fall for it and the stock drops. The ones who do not fall for it, load up going into the next earnings(stock and/or options). I believe that nowadays, negative comments are being ignored by most smart fund managers and analysts.

I am very bullish going into the stock split (March 26) and then earnings in April. I feel it will EXPLODE upward sometime next month although we could see drops in the the next 2 or 3 weeks. However, I feel downside moves will start disappearing soon(maybe even next week) as big investors start to position themselves for the split and earnings. This stock is going to have a lot of momentum investors jump on with few sellers along the way. That only means one thing as far as I am concerned.-----MSFT will blast past 200 by next earnings (or 100 post split)

To summarize--split on march 26; Office2000 end of March; earnings are expected to be great.

BTW--I remember the quarter when Office 97 was released. At that time, they came in with EPS of 81 cents when 66 was expected -of course based upon the outstanding shares at that time. I think the June quarter will be a blow-out also due to Office2000
