Voltaire, Hi!!! RE: Dell will beat earnings numbers but the kicker will be the SPLIT! Talking of splits on this thread has been a common place thing since the inception of the thread...Four have occurred since the thread began... The question was asked during the shareholders meeting as to what criteria Dell used for announcing a split... I believe it was Tom Meredith who answered with these three criteria: 1. Shareholder approval 2. Market Conditions 3. Earnings Momentum Frequently folks have felt that Dell split and did 20 pts for no reason "what so ever".... well, I think #3 answers the real reason why ... If management puts the split in place it will be a sign to many of us that Dell is set to continue stealing market share...and, if this is announced....anyone holding a short on DELL after that announcement had better have a phone close by.... :o) Best, kemble
