Hi Lather, we spent the afternoon looking at open houses in Annandale, both inside and outside the Beltway. My husband has been commuting to Crystal City for ten years, and he is very excited about the idea of moving so much closer to his job. As for me, it is very disorienting to think of moving inside the Beltway, or even just outside it.
The last house we looked at was just inside the Beltway, six acres and an old but large house in so-so shape, built in the 1950's or 1960's, they were asking $450K, which was much more than we want to spend, but I was thinking we could sell four acres, or build a custom house on one, live in the old house until it is done, then sell the old house and sell the rest of the acreage. He said no. Every time we look at houses, we have a major fight, so this time, I decided, ok, if he says no, drop it. Think I should drop it? |
