I'm back!

With your expert help, guys, here's the latest.

I found an unrecognized command in my CONFIG.SYS line 1

DEVICE=c:\windows\himem.sys

Loading all windows drivers took a long time.

No signs of dll problems during loading process

Furthermore, i do have a full backup of my windows and program files directories, BUT I was using colorado tape backup software - dos version not win 95 version and any long file names are noted as ~1 beyond 8 characters.

Is this a nono?

Then i went to control panel and got follwing error message :

C:\windows\system\setnote.cpl

I clicked on it and it let me in, where I checked the button for audio - volume control and put it back on the taskbar where it belongs.

Whata night.

But I guess if this was 12/31/99, I'ld really be running out of time!
