Jack, I couldn't resist sympathizing with you for a moment. I almost cut the end of my left forefinger off last week trying to open a box of pudding to make my husband a sugar-free pie (he's diabetic). It took me a LONG time to get the bleeding stopped. I finally had to put a pressure bandage on it. That night at bedtime, I decided to change the bandage and found that I had a second, more severe cut on the opposite side of my finger. How that got there, I'll never know. So I have been reduced to trying to type one-handed for several days and it is not easy, is it? I sincerely hope your 'hunch thumb' recovers in record time. You sound like a great family man.
