Let's assume what DEC aclaim is true.

Then you need add cost like:

1. Whenever you need new software, you will take days to find a package that run on alpha or even worse not available at all.

2. if you are not happy with DEC, ops! there is no other choice.

3.What if DEC go underwater someday?
