I very much agree with your remarks, DownSouth. Dell and msft are two completely different animals. As a fellow "Gorilla Game" adherent, it is easy to recognize that the boxmaker sector can't possibly have a Gorilla.

Msft is a core holding, and has been for several years. Cisco remains one as well. I moved out of the only other Gorilla I know, intc, earlier this year since I felt that a significant part of the microprocessor market is becoming commoditized and they will be producing lesser returns in the future.

Mr. Softee has become an 80,000 pound Gorilla. I look at my investment in msft as having potential for a solid 85% in '99, but lesser growth down the road as their nimbleness decreases. Where to turn except to Kings, such as dell and aol. Emc may be an opportunity as well.

The Kings are vulnerable to sector conditions and competitive moves that Gorillas could shrug off, but they still have the potential for outstanding returns. I look for dell to prove my theory on Tuesday.
