Well I finally read the whole thing and I believe that the Deutsche Bank and the writers should be commended for the excellent Report that has been submitted.
I thought that the 500 kg sample must be tied up in the Yellowknife strike. There was no other explanation.
A word of caution for all the shorties. A report of this kind is always very conservative. There is room for all kinds of pleasant surprises beginning tomorrow. This project may move a whole lot faster than some people anticipate. This project is much simpler in many ways than Diavik and Diavik has already laid out the program to follow to get mining approvals.
A 1000 tonne per day open pit mine can be put into production very quickly. I would bet that the politicians in the area have already prepared a briefing for the PM showing that there are many more votes to be gained by putting people to work in very profitable diamond mines than in kissing Suharto's but and gassing protestors.
This project will be on the fast track.
A pipe can turn up at any moment now.
Winspear has already shown samples of over 3 carats per tonne and the Deutsche Bank Report suggests that actual mining will likely yeild higher Carats per tonne than drill sampling. If the lognormal expectations hold true we may see a lot of large valuable stones.
If the colour frequency reported is extrapolated there will be a lot of clear white gems and yellow, green and pink(maybe some red and blue?)fancies.
The value of these stones can only be determined at the auction block--however they have been doubling in value every five years since 1970. We know one thing for sure--they fetch very high prices.
I would fully expect that the suitors will begin lining up. I believe that Southernera and Winspear would be almost a perfect fit for merger in the near future. They would be very complementary.
Winspear, you may now advance to $5.00 and hold for pleasant surprises and results.
