I was cleaning out some old Wall Street Journals from December (don't ask...) and found a very interesting article on the race to establish "electronic wallets." Here is the most salient passage:

"An informal survey of Web retailers by Forrester Research found that as many as two-thirds of electronic shopping carts wind up abandoned: Shoppers select products but then fail to complete their purchases. 'It pointed to how horrific the checkout process is," said an online analyst at the firm."

TWO-THIRDS abandon their purchases!! Think what that could mean to Wave once they get their chips in the OEMs--how easy would it be to go to an e-tailer and get them to sign up with Wave? Hell, Wave wouldn't have to go to them, they would come to us.

That passage just underlines the potential that this stock has. Frankly, I still don't understand why it has taken so long to take off--it will mean a new (and potentially huge) revenue stream to OEMs which are currently engaged in cuthroat competition with each other, and could also mean a substantial increase in e-tailers sales due to dramatically simplifying the purchasing process. Why hasn't this company taken off? You would think that OEMs would be kicking Wave's doors down demanding these chips, wouldn't you?
