Insurance does help and the cases most likely will be consolidated although some seem to have different claims that might be separated. The cost will be mainly in the slowdown of the company because of the time the discovery process will take away from top management. Many times I have seen the company ante up the money to help the insurance company in order to keep their rates low. Anyway, if you don't think the lawsuits will cost the company time and resources IMO you are mistaken. The other cost will be the cloud the lawsuits create over the company. I have been talking to another company that had a shareholders lawsuit. The President said it caused them to lose focus and many of their potential partners were timid to make partnerships.
