You forgot to mention two very important factors which distort the comparison:

1. a 4Q boom (unit based) in the consumer space sub 1K market where DELL doesn't play (hence avoiding a low-margin swampland) and

2. one major PC vendor stopping channel stuffing in the 3Q, resulting in artificially lower numbers and easier comparison in the 4Q.

I recommend that you go over the IDC report one more time.
