The way I understand it is that there IS NO SPLIT. This is strictly a dividend for the shareholders as of 2/11/99, and any adjustment to the price would be based on supply and demand of the market. So, since the market did not immediately adjust on Friday morning... The big winners are the people that sold at 2 or above Friday morning and still get the 4 share dividend for every share owned... And, the big losers are the people who did not realize that theoretically, the shares on Friday morning should be worth 20% of what they were worth on Thursday, and therefore paid over $2 for shares and did not get the 4 for 1 dividend. I still believe that in the long run, the price will be back up to where it was trading before the dividend, and more.
