Imation( Imation Corp ) LS-120 offered by 2 European PC cos

OAKDALE, Minn., Feb 7 (Reuter) - Imation Corp said two leading manufacturers of computers in the European market had agreed to offer
Imation's high-capacity floppy drive replacment technology as an option in certain computer models.

The company said Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG [NIXG.CN ] and Fujitsu Ltd's 6702.T Fujitsu ICL Computers Ltd unit planned
to integrate LS-120 drives into their PC lines as a replacement for standard 1.44 megabyte floppies.

The announcement was made Friday at a press conference held in Paris and hosted by Imation, a recent spin-off of Minnesota Mining and
Manufacturing Co .

Imation, a co-developer of LS-120 technology, manufactures and markets the LS-120 Diskette. The LS-120 competes with the Iomega
Corp highly successful Zip drive product.

Siemens Nixdorf will offer LS-120 drives in its Scenic Pro commercial PC line and its Scenic Celsius workstation PC line beginning in April
1997, also aimed at business users.

Fujitsu ICL plans to provide LS-120 drives across its professional ErgoPro PC range throughout Europe in the first quarter of 1997.

Fujitsu Ltd of Japan is a controlling shareholder in British-based Fujitsu ICL Computers Ltd. The Japanese parent holds about 83 percent of
ICL.
