And here's a question for the financiall wiz types. Are these stock purchases being retired, or is this account for on the "Marketable Securities" line item? Since the Available outstanding shares continues to shrink at a healthy clip, does that mean these shares are being retired?

Doubt they are being retired since they are pulling the employee options rip off similar to IBM, although not on the same outrageous scale/manner. The repurchased shares show up in the "Shareholders' Equity" (what a joke -g-) section of the balance sheet, as Treasury Shares which is a negative or reduction to Shareholders' Equity. Go borrow an intro to accounting book from the library and you can see the simple nature of the transaction and how stockholders are being raped when this is combined with employee stock option plans.
