Edamo, thanks very much for your note. I'm fully invested right now, but will try to lighten up over the next while and give put selling a try. Dell (also CSCO) does look like a great put selling opportunity right now. My inclination is to sell puts on some of the quality, more volatile stocks like ATHM and BRCM and use the proceeds to buy shares or LEAPS on less volatile stocks like EMC and WCOM. I have some difficulty determining the rate of return. I know my broker's collateral requirements for put selling, but feel the need to have close to 100% cash in case of assignment. I know I can roll forward, but my fear is being away from my computer on a day like Oct 8 and coming back to find I've been assigned on everything, and not having the required cash.
