DR , re. Cyrix overstating their performance ,this can be seen with their choice of 686 for what is a fifth generation product . Also your comparison of the 2 companies rather than just their CPUs is even more relevant from an investors viewpoint . AMD is in a much sounder financial position with diversification in many product lines including networking ICs ,flash memory,PLDs and more. regards
