God's will for the Jews.
Why did God choose the Jews? His purpose was for them to be servants of His to evangelize(bless) the world. What happened? They failed. Why? They became satisfied with themselves because they misinterpreted the call of God. Also, they rested on a false security thinking they were safe due to the fact the Temple was with them in Jerusalem and surely God would not let anything or anyone harm them or the Temple because they were chosen. God called out to them through Jonah the prophet. Go preached to the gentiles, He was saying, but no, they were like Jonah, disobedient, running away from God in order not to comply with His will for them. Did they get the message after Nineveh was converted? No. What did God do? He turned them over to the nations of the world that they were supposed to evangelize. Here is a lesson for America. Take heed that we perform the thing God has chosen us to perform or else we might face the same end. What is God's purpose for us? The same as always, evangelize the world that they might know the love of God and be turned from heathen practices.
So God has raised up His Messiah to fulfill His will for the world, and to keep His covenants with Abraham and David. Many Christian missionaries have gone out into the world. He is honoring His Son and His purposes by working through nations. May we ever stand tall before the world proclaiming the good news in all of its beauty.
