Joxk, >>>I think the movement into storage will ultimately be considered a stroke of
genius--much better than consumers. But what concerns me is the Fabless
Companies. We will see how that works out.<<<

So what's the concern? I'm trying to imagine what it is and might ramble a bit here trying to get it. It seems to me that fabless companies can be at the mercy of the fab company they rely on to manufacture their chips. This is in terms of price, and delivery priority, and quality and technology being up to the minute. When Cyrix was employing IBM for fab, there was a lot of griping about price and delivery. Xilinx is fabless and doing well, Altera has fabs and does well also.

Once you've bit the bullet and invested in bricks and mortar and equipment, and have it behind you, it seems like that's the way to go. Master of your own manufacturing destiny. Not that you don't have to update with every major process improvement that hits the industry. You do. But you are "complete".

So what is it?
