Michael, you said that obviously Dell fed Niles the info so the can Dell can then 'beat' this lowballed number. I agree with you that they most likely fed him the info but I believe they did it so the stock doesn't skyrocket in anticipation of blowout earnings. If not for Niles statement, Dell will probably be at 110 or more tomorrow. Imagine the drop the stock will take if those numbers are correct. Stocks normally don't survive 20+ point gap downs. Niles did the company a favor, sort of a pre-announcement, to cushion the fall to a more manageable level, give the funds a better chance of lightening up.
