<<As far as making the procedure as painless as possible to the fetus, would you prefer that they didn't, or what?>>

Del, from what I have read, the majority of second and third trimester abortions (which would be partial-birth abortions) are elective. The fetuses are alive and healthy. I am not arguing that women who would abort at this late stage would make real good mothers for these children, but to me it really makes our society a more savage one because we make it legal to murder babies this way. It would really be much less painful for the fetus if it had a chance to be born and adopted. This was a pretty common circumstance until recently, and I don't understand why it couldn't be again.

In fact, the liberal Democratic position on this issue makes me wonder sometimes whether I really want to be a liberal Democrat. I am not getting conservative, really, but their plank on this issue just really makes me sick.
