<In all fairness they have been a victim of the
war between Intel and AMD.> Yes, but a junior high school student with an interest in electronics would have known that the market would become competitive. Remember the threads discussions about a year ago?: huge capacity was slated to go on-line over the next few quarters that would increase uP industry capacity to about 1.25x to 1.5X the expected demand. That means a price and turf war was sure to develop. Since IDT tried to become a player in this market they have failed to catch up with either the performance curve or the production ramp. A year later what has changed? If IDTI comes out with long overdue parts at 400 Mhz they will be late to market by the time they are able to ramp up to high volume and make a significant profit.

I have taken a wait and see attitude toward IDTI - if they start to show consistent results then maybe they can be trusted to continue to follow through. But these stinkers have been consistent alright - consistently playing catch up.
