"Obsolence".."Planned Obsolence' is the name. Yeah but you forget when each 'once new microprocessor' moves down the value chain there are a few new ones about to be introduced,like the Tanner (I think) which will be introduced by Intel on Feb.26th and there will be more much powerful processors coming out as we go along. Some companies will chose to go with the 'cheap' ones as their main biz some will migrate to the higher end,Dell's decision to stay with the latest cutting edge technology and migrate up in the value chain has worked out quite nicely for the company and its shareholders.
