I don't know how many shares you were trying to buy, but if that would of happend to me, when the ask dropped to 10 3/4 then I would of placed the order in at 10.50, then when the ask droped again to 10.50 I would lower my price to 10.25 ... wait about ten minutes, and then put it in 1/64 above the ask. They usualy fill you on the ask after you play 'the game'.
