I agree that a partial conversion will not eliminate the need for catalogues, but a catalogue house has a large expenditure for order takers and phone expense. Trust me on this, I used to run a business that had catalogues, order takers, and phone expense. Faxed orders were much cheaper than phoned in orders, and internet orders entered automatically into the system would be dramatically cheaper yet. There is no doubt that every order entered in via the internet is a cost savings versus phoned in orders. If you have a number of order takers, this cost scales nicely with phone order volume, and phone expense does as well.
