Plunger is used many times. Here's my first sighting of a form of "plunger." Hardback edition, Fraser Pubs, 3rd printing 1992. Page 78. "I wasn't thinking of anything except that I was right-100 percent right- and that this was a heaven-sent opportunity. It was up to me to take advantage of it. I sold more. Did I think that with such a big line of shorts out, it wouldn't take much of a rally to wipe out my paper profits and possibly my principal? I don't know whether I thought of that or not, but if I did it didn't carry much weight with me. I wasn't plunging recklessly. I was really playing conservatively."
