Inco only drilled and tested for nickel and copper when they did the original 37,500 metres of work in the early 50's. It was Homestake who found the cobalt, platinum and palladium when INCO gave them permission to do some on-site work in the mid to late 80's. It's the latter metals that makes pay-dirt.
