do you see a monopoly on Microsoft OS business if there are so many threats from all over the places ? Well, there aren't many threats today. The Netscape situation shows how powerful the barriers to entry are in the desktop OS market. NS created and dominated the browser market, but even that wasn't enough for them to survive after they said that they would try to to become a competing platform.
