"and render AOL obsolete". This is very unlikely to happen. AOL Anywhere is their answer. I wouldn't be surprised if AOL users who sign up with @Home to get broadband pay the $10/month to stay AOL members so they don't have to switch email, learn a new way to get around, and all the other services from AOL that they are used to using. This is a very powerful force for many people. Perhaps for you and I it isn't important (since early 1995 when I first got on the net I have had 6 ISP's) but to the majority of folks, it is. Afterall, I for one think the AOL service has too much marketing BS and is primarily for older folks and kids. But there are alot of those people around.
