It is just as likely that Deswell will be forced to cut their dividend to maintain their cash.

John:

The company just reported a reduction in earnings, not a loss. And they are still generating positive cash flow. Why would they send a negative signal and cut the dividend. Also they have not used the cash for anything in years. Why do you suddenly think they have an acquisition strategy. Very speculative.

Additionally, if management is true to form, any acquisition they would do would likely be accretive and generate positive cash flow if not immediately in the very near future.
