LOS ANGELES (Feb. 16) BUSINESS WIRE -Feb. 16, 1999--Robert Spigno, President/C.E.O., ConectiSys, Corp. (OTC BB:CNES) announced that to further the goal of electricity deregulation, the Company has created a Registration Web Site at conectisys.net (available 10am Pacific Standard Time) for those consumers on the Internet who wish to evaluate the cost savings from an electricity reseller. This announcement invites resellers of electricity to consider the Company's technology. Through the collected information, the Company intends to introduce interested consumers to electricity resellers utilizing the Company's technology.
Despite the deregulation of electrical services, consumers are not yet seeing the benefits. A substantial portion of the cost of electricity is attributable to the expense of meter readings. The expense of labor, fleet vehicles and liability insurance are just some of the costs associated with the traditional method of meter reading. This cost intensive function has in part, until now, prevented electricity resellers from accepting customers in random locations.
For the last two years, ConectiSys, Corp. has been in the research and development stages of a technology that is tailor made for the automatic meter reading markets. The solution has arrived in the form of a wireless, tower less network. This innovative technology eliminates the expense of an employee traveling to each meter. Now electricity resellers can accept customers without regard to their location.
Customers with Internet access will be the first to benefit with online access to their billing information every 15 minutes. As formerly announced, negotiations are nearly complete with a strategic alliance partner to provide real-time electrical usage data through a major web portal. Through this portal customers will be able to access their kilowatt usage, billing information, graphs relating to time of day usage and weather relationships, budgeting tools, email alerts and the connivance of paying their bill on-line. In March 1998, SCE held by Edison International (NYSE:EIX) made e-commerce history by offering customers the option of paying their bills on its Web site.
An Internet portal is a gateway to information on the Internet, such as www.Yahoo.com (Nasdaq:YHOO), www.Excite.com (Nasdaq:XCIT), www.Lycos.com (Nasdaq:LCOS), www.MyOwnSearch.com, www.Go2Net.com (Nasdaq:GNET), www.Infoseek.com (Nasdaq:SEEK) and www.TheGlobe.com (Nasdaq:TGLO) that provides many services and features for its visitors. We feel these tools and services will give the new resellers of electricity a major competitive edge. The Company predicts its technology coupled with the Internet will cause a paradigm shift in the energy business. Marketing and billing costs will be scaled back dramatically for those resellers who market to Internet users. By lowering resellers' overhead, we anticipate the consumer will benefit through the lower cost of delivering electricity.
