mineman,Rex Diamond RXD Toronto recently announced the winners of a contest to guess the size of the largest diamond mined out of their mines in South Africa in January...results posted below

"Well, January 1999 was a month when the South African mines did not
produce exceptionally large stones. The largest diamond was a 22.96
carats, white stone of maccle shape, bid in South Africa at 1350
USD/carat and sold in Antwerp for 1400 USD/carat or 32.144 USD."

Hellllllo....large stone...higher dollar value per carat!!!
