Golden Books Family Entertainment Revamps World Wide Web Site

New York, Feb. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Golden Books Family Entertainment Inc., the struggling children's publisher, said it revamped its World Wide Web site in an effort to better lure customers to its products.

Golden Books, whose titles include Pat the Bunny and Little Lulu, said it plans to further expand the site over the next few months. The site now includes a link to the publisher's new online retailing page on Azazz.com and items such as daily jokes aimed at children, as well as links to the company's adult books and its television shows, such as Lassie.

The overhaul is the latest attempt by Chairman and Chief Executive Richard Snyder to revitalize the publisher. The company's shares plummeted last year amid mounting quarterly losses, which caused it to miss an interest payment to debt holders. Since then, media executive and Golden Books investor Barry Diller resigned from the company's board, and one of the publisher's biggest stockholders dumped its entire stake.

Shares of Golden Books, which are down about 80 percent in the past year, rose 9/32 to 2 9/32 in early trading.
