Regarding the Super Show...
Before I go on, I just want to touch on one point. As both an insider to QTNT and their PR contact, I strive to be as truthful as I can, as well as provide shareholders with as much info as I can, without crossing the line. So again, if there are some questions I cannot answer, please understand. Also, this means that I cannot and will not allow myself to "hype" the company or its product, or contribue to the "hype" if someone else started rumors.
That being said, let me now address the Salt Lake Show. Someone was wondering about the orders that were placed. That 1,000 tents to the Mike's Sports of the world (I'm paraphrasing here) is worthless, but 100 tents to K-Mart would be something to get excited about. I beg to differ. The SLC show was a regional show, and not necessarily attended by the top chains. Secondly, if QTNT sold 1,000 tents to several local sporting good stores, or small regional chains, then assuming they sell well, those stores or chains will have to replace them, thus , another 1,000 tents sold.
Folks, we have a brand new product here. We are looking to sell these tents to anyone who wants them. This is not desparation. It is reality. We have to SET OUR EXPECTATIONS CORRECTLY. The orders placed at SLC are extremely important in building brand awareness for the product at a local level, and then moving up to a national level.
OK, I am done rambling, and now I can tell you about the Super Show. It went very, very, very well. There were not any firm orders placed at the show, because this is a different show than SLC. The buyers attending the Super Show are from much larger stores and chains, and they do not have the power to purchase on the spot. Rather, they want to have a sample of the tent, and then the decision gets made. No matter, everyone who saw the tent loved it. We had buyers from home shopping clubs to internet retailers who expressed very strong interest, and are awaiting their samples. Just as important, QTNT developed relationships with large sales reps, who work in companies that distribute outdoor products.
To be realistic, I cannot yet disclose a sales forecase. But, the Super Show was a success by any standards, and Dave Taylor will be spending the next 2 weeks getting out samples and following up with potential customers.
Now, I noticed that none of the investors showed up, and I do believe they may have been detained at the door, as the show was open only to the trade. I did not know this at the time, and I apologize if anyone reading this was inconvenienced. However,if right now, I could ask one person to call me at my office 617-332-0101, I will have Dave taylor return the call, and you can ask him your questions, then report to the board, It is our intention to hold an investor conference call as well, but right now, the priority if selling tents, so if I could ask you to please be patient, we will be holding conference calls, hopefully at the end of every quarter. Right now, I can probably get Dave on the phone for 15 minutes to answer some questions.
Also, if any of you have a fax machine, let me have your fax number so I can place you on the QTNT fax database, to receive news releases as they "cross the wire." |
