Clark, All... S Korea IMT 2000 trials next year. Not sure if omitting any mention of cdma2000 or VW-40 is meaningful or not. Kind of reads like "whatever it is, we're gonna build one."

P.S Clark, thanks for the good OFDM explanations.

February 16, 1999 (SEOUL) -- The International Mobile
Telecommunications 2000 service will debut as early as next year in Korea,
said domestic mobile phone service operator SK Telecom.
In preparation for the trial service in 2000, the Korean telecom company is
planing to set up an asynchronous IMT-2000 service system, which will be
delivered from Japan's NTT Mobile Communications Networks Inc. (NTT
DoCoMo), in Pundang city in Kyunggi Province.

Also, SK Telecom, which has six million mobile phone subscribers so far
this year, said it will spend US$15 billion won for developing various
telecom equipment systems, including switching machines and wireless
phone facilities.
