-IDT unveils system controller strategy-- Integrated Device Technology Inc. is supplementing its RISC-processor offerings with system controllers being developed in a two-pronged strategy. Two standalone system controllers, one each for 64- and 32-bit processor families, will be introduced next week. In the future, IDT plans to merge these controllers with its MIPS-based CPUs and some application-specific functions to produce "integrated core controllers" for lower-cost systems. edtn.com "...IDT plans to develop what it calls "integrated core controllers," which will combine the CPU and system controller. IDT has no release schedule for the integrated core controllers." Looks like they are still planning something, but not x86 related. Jim
