I am about to issue a challenging, but shameless, post. ("Pride goeth before a fall." Whatever that means.} But it may give you, or some other manager of money, a poser - a little game that you might feel you have a solution for.

About 12 hours ago you wrote: "Personally think MMU is the only hope left in the ADP."

This is of great interest to me for several reasons. First, I will thumbnail the situation:

I am an ancient, soon 70, virtually fundless, hanger-onner who needs subsistence - yet still dreams of the stars.

Assets: $5M cash. Balanced against about $5M revolving credit obligations. Income: $850 per month Social Security plus $1-1.5M per month from Substitute Teaching. Monthly net (SS less expenses): ($450); (SS plus Teaching less expenses): +$650(approx).

So, for each month of teaching, I gain a one month extension of subsistence. Then, though, there are the non-teaching summer months, and the fact that, at some unforeseeable time in the future, I will no longer be able to teach (age, infirmity, that stuff). It's quite a touch and go position.

Bets/crapshoots: Subsistence: Have just opened an E*Trade trading account, $1000, with hopes of offsetting the monthly subsistence shortfall (against SS only). With 9 or 10 trades in two weeks, the balance is still at about $1000 - 100ARS, 100TSATA, 600GW, $50 cash.

Star Gazing: (Lost my nestegg when Fujani>Kolvox>Wildcard went bust, more than $50M.) Now in MEO, for about two years, 15M shares; and in MMU, 45M shares.

Have admired not only MMU' being brushed up and up front, their methods seem completely circumspect, but have taken the words about till or overburden to heart (in comparing MMU to MEO).

So, your comment of 12 hours ago becomes extremely relevant to me!

My questions:

1. Your words "only" and "hope" (about MMU and the ADP) are either very negative to the ADP, or quite positive to MEO. Which, please?

2. I am inclined to dump the MEO, and put it into 15-20M more MMU. Is this idiotically putting all the eggs in one basket?

3. Anyone want to play acrostics with the above facts, all of them, and come to any far-fetched ideas of how the elements could be rearranged to benefit either the Subsistence goal, or, optimally, both the Subsistence and the Star Gazing goals?

Ain't that a gasser of a gutless post?

But, "hope" and "MMU" and the "ADP" ring together for me, to make such a pretty sound, it was impossible not to write.
