There are nothing but arbitrary rules which give programmers iron-grip control over the media once it has passed into the customers' hands. These rules are clearly unenforceable, and this will continue to be proven, until the rules are changed for the benefit of everyone, instead of a select few.

In the future, computer programmers will be a commodity and their salaries will be much lower. This anomaly with MSFT making money hands over fist through selling software will end.

In the future, if you want to make big money, become a systems admin or troubleshooter instead of a programmer.

Large revenues from commercial software sales will come to an end.

FWIW
