Okay, Sean. Here's a question for you and the other gurus here.

This is a true-or-false question, plus explanation for answer.

I'm now studying (re-studying) moving averages. At present it appears to me that *no* particularly valuable insights can be obtained from sophisticated indicators derived from moving averages (MACD, for example) that can not be obtained by studying moving averages *directly*. Thus there really is no reason to seek out or create some derivative indicator -- just learn how to read your moving averages!!

True or false?
