AMD's paper said the K7 operates with a 2.5 volt Supply and that 2.5 volt Supply is regulated down on-chip to 1.6 volts for the PLL - Phase Locked Loop, to minimize the electric field stress across the oxides. The surprising number is the 2.5 VOLT SUPPLY ! This is 15% above the 2.2 volts for the existing parts. The above numbers were taken from the text of the AMD article. On the other hand, in a table of technology features, the Power Supply is listed aas 1.6 volts. So, AMD has contradicted itself in its own paper. Paul
