Steve Jobs is an amazing entrepreneur and visionary, but I question whether he has what it takes to run a mature company like Disney which relies much more on the fundamentals of sound management rather than the rah-rah spirit of an inspirational leader. You don't need vision at a place like Disney; you need an iron fist to rein in costs and move your people around. Look at Eisner--here's a man without a creative bone in his body, but he is a great manager and businessman. In contrast, Jobs proved in his first incarnation at Apple that he couldn't manage a company after the initial growth spurt waned. He pursued bad ideas obsessively no matter what the cost and to the detriment of shareholders. This buyout by Disney (which as a rumor I put no value in at all) would be a great thing for Apple and Pixar shareholders but would be a disaster for Disney. Just imagine Jobs trying to deal with the suits and org charts in LA. He'd slit his wrists. Doughboy.
