Elmer & Intel Investors - Intel is working on a low cost Cable Modem.

At this point I don't think cost is the barrier. You just can't get the damn service. The morons at Cox Cable in Phoenix/Glendale now have my neighborhood (a decently affluent one, too) pushed back until "early 2000" to get service. This is after mid-99 and late-99 targets.
