I think people are posting messages on the Yahoo board, and they are pretty bleak. Maybe that is good...Given a P/S and P/B of less than 1.0, and insider buying, I would have to say that SMSC is more a buy than a sell. I just don't understand why it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I also wonder who its competitors are, and what it really does. When SMSC was a leader in the networking business, I could understand what it does, but now...now, it seems to make "parts" for computers. What does that really mean? And why isn't it doing any better with the recent boomlet (1 quarter doesn't constitute a "boom") in PC sales. Ideas?
