I think this "guilt by association" with Dell is misplaced. Wasn't this what a number of us were predicting would eventually happen to Dell? Their business model was extremely vulnerable to this; CPQ acquired DEC to expand their vision (to include service as well as making boxes) just to avoid this scenario. Furthermore, CPQ has been eating into Dell's numbers. I would think that after the smoke clears, the Dell news should be seen as confirmation of Pfeiffer's foresight and CPQ should move up again.
