Well sleeper, I hate to disagree with you but I do. Making no excuses for Sand, the doing of these alliances is hairy stuff. Been there. You can not believe how paranoid these people get. Much is at stake. All the dealers want the customer to believe they have all the stuff. If they knew the arrangements they will whip you to death. If you haven't been there you can't understand. All business is done in vertical markets with companies that deal only in those markets. Clients want them to have the answers. The only way they can do that is to use others goodies. They know the market, they are not software houses. My company did every Minolta installation of MINSTAR. Those people were nothing. But they had the name. We did the work.Minolta bought their equipment from Bell & Howell. Minolta made cameras, period. Strange world here.Thats what the OEM network is all about.
