In the news: surgical stroke treatment. I just caught the tail end of a story on the news tonight about a new treatment for stroke. In something like 4 out of 6 cases, they got 100% recovery by connecting arteries from the femur (I think) to the head, bypassing the jammed artery that caused the stroke. Does anyone know more about this or have comments? It seems plausible to me that this could have an impact on the potential market for CERESTAT. I imagine that like CERESTAT it would have to be performed fairly soon after the stroke occurs to work.
