Analog Devices Acquires White Mountain DSP and Edinburgh Portable Compilers
NORWOOD, Mass., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI)announced today the company has signed definitive agreements to purchase WhiteMountain DSP, Inc. of Nashua, New Hampshire and Edinburgh Portable Compilers(EPC) of Edinburgh, Scotland. White Mountain DSP is the world's leading supplier of emulators for digital signal processors (DSP). EPC specializes insoftware compilers for high performance, embedded applications. Compilers and
emulators are fundamental development tools that customers need to design with DSPs and partners need to develop advanced, complementary tools for DSPs. The acquisition of these two companies greatly enhances ADI's portfolio by integrating the company's DSP architecture and IC design core competencies with White Mountain DSP's and EPC's development tools corecompetencies.

White Mountain DSP and EPC are privately held companies that ADI will
acquire through a combination of cash and stock. White Mountain DSP willremain in New Hampshire and will become a wholly owned subsidiary of ADI. EPC will remain in Scotland and will become a wholly owned subsidiary of ADI.
