The market today reminded me of being becalmed in a sailboat in 3 foot choppy seas. Dell and HP may provide some downward bias to the action, unless their company spokesmen put a great spin on their disappointing revenues. In this kind of environment I fear even Gorillas may get punished, at least until the next wave of earnings.

I had planned to sell covered calls on all of my core positions starting in May, in preparation for the normal summer slump, but am considering pulling up the date to this week, since I don't see much possibility for share appreciation near term.

Would any of you who are more experienced with these types of markets care to offer comments?

Frank
